Synopsis

When the body of a Hollywood producer is discovered stuffed inside the trunk of a Rolls-Royce, LAPD Detective Harry Bosch is assigned to investigate what initially appears to be a classic mob execution known as “trunk music.” As Bosch digs deeper into the victim’s business dealings and personal life, he realizes that nothing about the murder is as straightforward as it seems.

The investigation leads Bosch into the worlds of organized crime, Las Vegas casinos, Hollywood money, and dangerous personal relationships. Along the way he reunites with FBI agent Eleanor Wish, forcing him to confront emotions from his past while navigating an increasingly complicated homicide investigation.

As evidence mounts, Bosch uncovers a conspiracy that reaches far beyond the apparent Mafia connection. With suspects disappearing, witnesses lying, and powerful people manipulating the investigation, Bosch must rely on his instincts to uncover a killer willing to eliminate anyone who gets too close to the truth.

Combining intricate detective work, memorable characters, and relentless pacing, Trunk Music is widely regarded as one of the strongest novels in the Harry Bosch series and helped cement Michael Connelly’s reputation as one of America’s premier crime writers.
