Long ago, the great wizard Anskiere defeated the terrible Mharg demons with the aid of the fire mage Ivain. But Ivain’s betrayal during the final battle left the victory incomplete and cursed the land of Vaere. Generations later, young Jaric inherits a dangerous magical legacy and becomes entangled in an ancient conflict between the elemental powers of wind and water versus fire and earth. As old enemies awaken, Jaric must master abilities he never sought to save his world from destruction.
