EugeneBookStore Summary

The Fellowship of the Ring is the first volume of Tolkien’s legendary masterpiece, The Lord of the Rings. This edition was released to coincide with Peter Jackson’s groundbreaking film trilogy and introduced a new generation of readers to Middle-earth. Combining unforgettable characters, richly imagined history, and timeless themes of friendship, sacrifice, and hope, it remains one of the defining works of modern fantasy.

Collector Notes

Although the movie tie-in edition is not as collectible as earlier Ballantine or first editions, it remains popular with readers who discovered Tolkien through the films. Complete matching sets of the 2001 Del Rey movie editions continue to sell well, especially in better condition. Tolkien remains one of the most collected fantasy authors in the world.
